Boomerang: Fonbet refunds your stake on 0-0 — how it works and which matches

From 20 October Fonbet made the Boomerang promotion permanent: if you back Match Winner (1 or 2) on a game carrying the Boomerang mark and it ends 0-0, the stake is returned to your balance in cash.

The terms

  • Match Winner (1X2) market only, pre-match or live, single or as a leg in an acca (the leg’s share is refunded, the acca continues as “void”).
  • Maximum refund €50 per slip, once per match per player.
  • Matches with the 🪃 icon — usually Super League, Champions League, Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga. Football only.
  • The refund is cash, no rollover.
  • Not combinable with Free Bets.

What it does to the maths

0-0 happens in roughly 7–8% of big-league matches. If you back 1 or 2 and the operator refunds your stake in that 7–8%, the real margin of the 1X2 market drops by about 0.7 percentage points — from 4.6% to ~3.9% in the Super League. For low-goal-line games (Under 2.0) the benefit is bigger.

How to use it

  1. Prefer Boomerang matches when you intend to back 1 or 2 anyway.
  2. In “tight” games (two defensive sides, line 2.0–2.25) Boomerang is worth more.
  3. Don’t change your pick for Boomerang’s sake — it’s insurance, not a reason.

Already happened to me on Aris–Lamia 0-0, the €15 came back 10 minutes after full-time. Cash, not bonus.

Does it apply to the X too? If I back the draw and it ends 0-0, do I win normally or get refunded?

If you back X and it ends 0-0 you win normally — Boomerang only concerns those who backed 1 or 2. It’s essentially insurance against 0-0.
