Cash Out at Fonbet: when to close the slip and when to let it ride

Every time you see the Cash Out button, Fonbet is proposing a trade: “I give you X now, you give me the slip.” Like every price the operator sets, it carries a margin. The question isn’t “take it or not?” but “is this price better than my own estimate?”.

How it’s calculated

Cash Out amount ≈ (potential return × current probability of success) − margin. A 5-leg acca with €200 potential return, 4 legs won, the 5th at 1.30 live: fair value 200/1.30 = €154, Fonbet offers ~€143. The margin: ~7%.

Full vs partial

Partial Cash Out (the slider under the button) closes a percentage of the slip and lets the rest run at the original odds. The typical use: close just enough to “get your stake back” and the remainder becomes a free roll.

When it’s worth it

  1. New information the market hasn’t priced yet — injury, red card, weather. Cash Out follows odds with a lag.
  2. An acca with one “outsider” leg left (2.50+): insurance is cheap relative to the risk.
  3. Bankroll management: when the slip is large relative to your bankroll — here the maths is secondary.

When it’s a mistake

  • Panic at 80’ when your team leads 1-0: Cash Out prices the equaliser risk higher than it statistically happens.
  • Systematic Cash Out on every acca: you pay 7% margin on top of the original 5% — long term you lose twice.

Setting Auto Cash Out

Fonbet allows Auto Cash Out: set an amount and the slip closes automatically when it reaches it. Useful for live tennis and basketball where the price moves fast — and to stop deciding with emotion.

FAQ

Is Cash Out always available?
No — it suspends when the market is paused (penalty, VAR, goal) and isn’t offered on Free Bets, cards/corners markets and some special promotions.
Is there a fee?
Not explicitly. The margin is built into the price: the amount is ~5–8% below “fair” value.

I use partial Cash Out to “get my stake back” when 4 of 5 have landed in the acca. The way you describe it, the last leg’s odds matter too.

Exactly — if the last leg is a 1.30 favourite, Cash Out already gives you ~70% of the potential return and the insurance is cheap. If it’s 3.00, you pay dearly for it.
